Shake off the shadows: Yoga writing from within

As another minute goes by, I feel my grip slipping on the mat. Shaking legs propel me downwards. Obviously that pose was too much. Yoga practice is slowly transforming my strength and my outlook on life as it leads me to greater awareness.

I feel select burdens lifting as I move, struggle and slip my way from pose to pose. A burst of pride shoots through me as my awkward limbs develop that faint sense of grace. But much more than that, I am connected to myself. I sense my inner core, my personality, my morals and my drive.

As I wander out from the shadows, today seems just a little sweeter than the day before.
